Frequently asked questions.

Can we bring our boat with us?

Absolutely! We have a Dinghy Park with dedicated slipway for hand-launchable boats and trailers. Our Hardstanding area is suitable for trailer-based boats (up to 7m length overall) with vehicular access to be able to hitch up + tow down to with the public slipway (350m down the road.) The public slipway is free to use for launching / recovering.

There is fresh water rinsing facilities available in both storage areas. You can add your storage requirements onto your camping booking during the checkout process.

Can we bring our paddleboards/kayaks with us?

Of course! We have our own slipway from which you can launch from as well as a fresh water hose to rinse your kit when you get off the water. There is a kayak rack located near the slipway, which you can book a spot on or alternatively you can store this on your pitch.

Can we have fire pits/BBQs?

Sure - we kindly ask that you ensure any fires/bbq’s are raised off of the grass and that they are sensibley used. Please be mindful to any neighbours in the instance your fire is particularly smokey.

Will my tent fit on the pitch?

Please be mindful of your pitch dimensions (listed in the descriptions) when booking to ensure your tent will fit. The dimesions are the overall length and width of the pitch so your tent + guy ropes will need to fit within this footprint. Please note - our pitches are terraced so failure to fit within your pitch will result in your tent spilling over a ledge onto uneven ground.

What if I arrive after hours?

You will receive a welcome email prior to yoru arrival with a map of the site and some useful info. If you are going to arrive late, please let our office know. Your map will be useful in helping you find your way to your pitch & way around the site. We kindly ask that you check-in the next morning with the office.

What is in the Campers’ Kitchen?

We have taken great care in providing a useful kitchen area that will make your stay that much more enjoyable. In the Campers’ kitchen there are: washing up facilities, a chest freezer, fridge, kettle and undercover seating area.

Can we bring a dog?

Yes! We love dogs! Sometimes we let them bring their owners! You are welcome to bring your furry pal with you. We kindly ask that you tidy up after your dog, there are bins onsite for disposal.

Is there food onsite?

Our good friend, Julia, from Pretty Tasty, has a cafe onsite. Not only is all of her food fresh, locally sourced and in-season, but it is mouthwateringly delicilous! To browse her opening hours and drool over her menu, you can follow her on instagram @prettytastycornwall.

Where is the closest shop?

Our closest shop is Mylor Store in Mylor Bridge. It is a 35-minute scenic walk or 5-minute drive away. Alternatively, our closest big supermarket is Sainsburys in Falmouth and is a 12-minute drive away.

Can I hire a boat/paddleboard/kayak?

Whether you’re after a friendly dinghy to take the kids out on, or something more racey, we have a dinghy & catamaran to suit all abilities. If you don’t feel like sailing, or the there’s no wind, why not roam the Carrick Roads & River Fal by Kayak or Paddleboard? Explore the amazing variety of creeks & beaches, or maybe even paddle to The Pandora Inn & relax on their pontoon.

Can I learn to sail with you?

Located on the edge of the Carrick roads, Coastland is the ultimate venue to learn and progress your Dinghy or Catamaran sailing. Combine that with a brand new fleet of sailing dinghies and the most experienced instuctors, RYA Courses or just personal development, Coastland is the best venue for all your dinghy sailing needs.

I’m keen to get into Catamaran Sailing or improve my Cat Sailing, can you help?

Catamaran sailing is the backbone of Coastland and where things all began. With truly world class tuition from the likes of Tom Phipps (author of ‘The Caramaran Book’), you will have no option but to learn and improve your skills. We work at all levels from introductory session to performance coaching.

Are there any walks nearby?

We are lucky enough to be in a truly breath-taking part of the world with lovely walks literally on our doorstep. We have the South-West Coast Path running along our property and you can walk towards quaint Flushing (+- 35 minute walk/ 2.8km) and catch the ferry into Falmouth or you could head East towards Restronguet Creek and grab some grub at the renowed Pandora Inn.

Is there electric hook-up on my pitch?

Each pitch is supplied with a fused standard camper/caravan electric supply. Adapters can be hired from the office if needed.

Is there wifi onsite?

Yes. There is wifi available in both the tent & van area for all of those need to stay in connected.

Is the area dog friendly?

Yes! Cornwall is an especially dog-friendly county. You can take your four-legged companion into almost all restaurants, pubs and even some shops now too! A lot of the popular beaches will have dog restrictions in July and August (no dogs between 10am - 6pm), but there are a lot of beaches that do not, including our beach, Mylor, which is dog friendly all-year round. :)

What are the options if I’d like to leave my boat on the water during my stay?

We have a couple of swing moorings that are available to hire. You can add these to your camping booking when checking out, Our swing moorings are located just off our beach, easily rowable in a small dinghy. The mooring is fully serviced and is fitted with a shrimper style strop and back up chain.
• Rental period is from 14h00 on the day of hire to 1200 on the last day of hire.
• Mooring rated for shrimper style boat
